About

Josie is a writer, director and actor from Somerset. Her film ‘fishing’ won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short at Slamdance Film Festival 2024 and Best UK Short at Bolton Film Festival, before premiering on ‘Short of the Week’.

She has screened at a range of festivals including International Film Festival Oberhausen, London Film Week & BFI Flare.  Her previous short ‘Dead Cat Film’ featured Will Gao (Heartstopper) and the voice of Hugh Bonneville (Notting Hill, Downton Abbey). It was created with Nathan Miller, with whom she is currently developing a number of longform projects. In 2023 she was selected for the Director's UK Inspire scheme, to be mentored by BAFTA-winning director Tom George.

All of her projects ensure at least 50% representation for women, trans and non-binary people in cast and crew.

She trained as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and the National Youth Theatre, where she is an Emerging Associate.
